You thought I was going to say Chris Pratt, right? After he was announced as Mario in an upcoming Nintendo film and Garfield in a flick about the lasagna-loving fatso, it seems like he’s doing all the voices in Hollywood lately.
It’s another Chris, however, that producers are targeting to voice the title character in a forthcoming prequel-style origin story about the Toy Story spaceman. That’s right, it’s Captain America himself, Chris Evans.
And as weird as it may seem for people to take things this seriously, the choice has actually sparked a lot of outrage. Not because of Evans’ acting skills or anything like that, but because the man who played Buzz in the past, Tim Allen, is a hardcore conservative, while Evans is basically a liberal with a cape on.
According to a recent piece in Forbes, some media outlets and conservative commentators have speculated that the choice to cast Evans was some kind of jab at Allen, who has been vocal about his support for Donald Trump and the fact that Trump “pisses people off.”
But according to your humble author, every role Tim Allen has ever played should have just been a voice role, because that guy sucks at everything except having a funny-sounding voice.
Chris Evans, on the other hand — well, let’s just say I have spoken to a lot of dudes who would switch teams for that guy. He’s charismatic, handsome, talented, and he is way excited about being Buzz Lightyear.
Animated movie were an enormous part of my childhood. They were my escape. My adventures. My dreams.
They were my first window into the magic of storytelling and performing.

One movie critic actually pointed out that the Buzz Lightyear from this film is not the same Buzz from Toy Story. Sheriff Woody’s sidekick was, of course, a toy, while the role Evans is cast in is the character that the toy is based on.
Either way, if this doesn’t give you some kind of feelings no matter what your age or political affiliation, I feel sorry for you, my friend.
First trailer for Pixar’s ‘Lightyear’ starring Chris Evans as Buzz Lightyear.
The film releases in theaters on June 17th, 2022. Thoughts?

Conservatives are seriously up in arms:
It's like replacing the voice of Frosty the Snowman (Jackie Vernon – RIP) or Charlie Brown's teacher ( ). Tim Allen is Buzz Lightyear. It's part of the reason the TOY STORY series did so well.

Well you’ll never prove it but I’m sure it has to do with Tim Allen’s politics and himself being a conservative They meaning Hollywood, hate him with a passion just like they hated Trump

That's how revolutionaries operates. I'm telling you we are at war. War! Means it's going to be time declare it. The Democrats won an election; not the right to change our lives and government. We change our lives and government. The people!

I won’t subscribe to Disney+. Our last trip to Disneyworld was disheartening. Everything was woke. The parades sucked. Traditional beloved characters excluded or trailed on foot at the very end. Walt would raze it & salt the earth

Liberal politics ruin everything. Especially Hollywood. The new Toy Story would normally be a movie I'd take my daughter to, but not now.
