On Vladimir Putin, February 6th, 2017
Fox News, Bill O’Reilly: “But Putin’s a killer.”
Trump: “There are a lot of killers. You think our country’s so innocent?”
Just what we needed, right? He had been president for a little over two weeks, and the American president would defend Russia and its leader, Mr. Polonium himself. This, of course, was right at the same time the country was learning the extent of Russian assistance to the Trump campaign.
At that moment, we knew, if not well before. The American president would be more loyal to Putin’s Russia than the United States.
Shockingly, the same dynamic arose again Sunday, only this time with the United States’ other international foe, China. Maria Bartiromo, the ultimate Trump apologist had to shut Trump down:
Bartiromo asked about U.S.-Chinese relations. Because Trump thinks he’s a king or dictator, there are no such things as nation-to-nation relationships that follow principles (democracy versus communism). No, to Trump – the King, it’s all about how HE gets along with someone:
Bartiromo asked about U.S. relations with China. As part of his response, Trump delivered a glowing assessment of his rapport with China’s President, Xi Jinping.
“You know, I had a great relationship with President Xi,” Trump said. “I really believe he liked me, and I like him. I had a great relationship—”
Well then it’s as simple as that, right? No worry about human rights abuses, global climate change, trade, just “I really believe he liked me.” Bartiromo had to shut him up, which is amazing because Bartiromo is as big a Trump apologist as exists:
“He’s a killer!” Bartiromo said, throwing up her arms in frustration.
“He is a killer,” Trump replied. “But I had a great relationship with him.”
You just have to know that Xi Jinping played Trump like a toy. He probably flattered Trump, maybe got him some extra special “stuff” while Trump visited, and maybe even arranged for some money to get to Trump. That’s all it took for excellent Chinese-American relations.
“I had a great relationship with him.”
Humiliating, even to Bartiromo:
