There are two things you can always count on when someone crazy is given the spotlight. First, they will get crazier. And second, they will wildly overestimate their importance.

Both phases of that transformation from mere Georgia kook to Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene seem to have taken full effect.

We recently reported on a visit that Greene made alongside fellow nutcase Louie Gohmert to the Washington, DC jail where inmates from the January 6th siege are being held. Her revelatory experience that day apparently changed her view on prison reform entirely.

And although she literally has no power in Congress whatsoever, having been stripped of all her committee assignments over her involvement in the siege at the Capitol, she swears by God she’s going to do something about it.

But how did they reach so deeply into her heart, you might ask.

Now, if I didn’t write politics all day every day and someone asked me to pick Marjorie Taylor Greene out of a lineup, you could probably fool me with a couple of Fox News anchors and a cheerleading mom. So for Greene to suggest that she was immediately recognized by a bunch of people whose only interaction with politics is their absolute, undying devotion to Donald Trump was, let’s just use the word again — crazy.

Looking in their eyes was like looking at people who thought they were forgotten.

We’re hoping after this term, Marjorie will be forgotten as well.
