Throughout the Christmas holiday and near New Years Day, the country was rampant with rumors that not only did Ron DeSantis have COVID, but that he was very sick, sick to the point he couldn’t sign needed declarations of emergencies in localities that were getting hit hard.

Adding to the rumors was the fact that DeSantis’s Twitter feed continued to put out tweets meant to sound like they were from that day, but used pictures that were easily proven to be from weeks earlier. It was very odd. His staff simply insisted he was on vacation, while Florida exploded with COVID again.

DeSantis then appeared in public after a 17-19 day period and the rumors died down. They are now on fire again. According to Newsweek:

On Wednesday, DeSantis was in Kissimmee, Osceola County, to announce that nearly $10 million would be awarded to support semiconductor and other tech manufacturing. But as DeSantis stood at the podium behind a sign that read “Manufacturing Florida’s future,” his voice wavered as he spoke.

A video of the press conference has been widely shared, with some suggesting that his apparent difficulty in getting to the end of sentences was caused by a COVID-19 infection.

There has been no official confirmation that he has the virus and Newsweek has contacted his office for comment.

“Here is a second angle of Ron DeSantis struggling with breathing problems during his event today,” tweeted the left-leaning PAC Meidas Touch. The accompanying video had been viewed more than 1.5 million times by Thursday morning.

That is… interesting? An even more fascinating question is why someone would hide that they have COVID? Half the country has seemingly either had COVID, has COVID, or will have COVID, and so… maybe because he’s been so anti-mask, so pro “freedom,” and so shockingly irresponsible, he is a little reluctant to do so. He is so reckless and reluctant that if he does have COVID, he’s unmasked and surrounded by people who are unmasked.
