All these potential cases against potential Trumps, it gets to the point of who is doing what and where, and yet it’s critical that we’re sure that everyone understands exactly which case from which this new issue arises.

As everyone knows, the New York Attorney General has filed a civil suit against the Trump Organization and, as such, can subpoena anyone New York chooses to subpoena. This time, New York subpoenaed some big names. Don Jr. and Ivanka and they are not cooperating:

According to ABC News:

Former President Trump’s eldest son and daughter have refused to comply with subpoenas issued by the New York State attorney general’s office as it conducts a civil investigation into the way the family real estate business valued its holdings.

“A dispute has arisen between the OAG and the Individual Trump Parties regarding the Subpoenas,” a document filed Monday said.

The dispute almost certainly has to do with the fact that there have already been reports that New York (state) has been cooperating with the Manhattan A.G., which is attempting to build a criminal case against the Trump family and that it is unfair to subpoena them to an entity working alongside an attorney general building a criminal case.

Of course, they are always free to take the Fifth Amendment. We suspect that they don’t want to be in that position.

Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump will file motions to quash the subpoenas as soon as Monday, the filing indicated.

If the motion to quash is based upon the fact that there is a parallel criminal investigation ongoing and that the two organizations have been working together, there is a chance the judge will grant it.

We will see, probably fairly quickly. State judges tend to rule on this type of motion fairly quickly.
