It was just three days ago that Madison Cawthorn warned us all that the U.S. better not intervene against Russia in Ukraine because the American military would get destroyed by the more “serious” Russian forces:

It was only two days ago that a year-old video was re-released telling us this adorable story about how he met his soon-to-be wife, prior to their marriage (and even sooner to be ex-wife, he announced an end to his eight-month marriage and divorce on December 23rd, perhaps the best day on the calendar to bury anything).
DIVORCED 8 MONTHS LATER & NOW HE’S A PROPAGANDIST FOR THE RUSSIANS. I WONDER HOW MANY POLITICIANS DO PUTIN OWN?
Rep. Cawthorn claims he got married after a guy he met at a Russian casino scammed him into attending a bogus where he met his wife. pic.twitter.com/1Z9fiEhKoY 04— Tomthunkit™ (@TomthunkitsMind) December 30, 2021
To summarize the story as to how he met his ex-wife, hitting only the major points:
A few years ago, Cawthorn took this crazy spur-of-the-moment trip with friends, even without medical clearance. They went to an area “near Russia” (his term) otherwise known as Sweden and Finland. They took a ferry to St. Petersburg and went to a casino. (Think Russian mob). There, he met an American military captain, because one always runs into senior American military officers in Russian casinos. He and the Captain hit it off and stayed in touch. The American captain was from Miami (lots of Russians settle in South Florida) and the next time very young Cawthorn was in Miami “on business,” the captain happened to be “home” and not stationed anywhere (from what it sounds like) and proposed that they go to a cross-training event. Cawthorn pointed out that he’s in a wheelchair, which wasn’t a problem to the captain, just swim. So, Cawthorn found a lot of free time on his business trip and went. Turns out it was all a hoax and a set-up to get him “in the same room as this girl” (Cawthorn’s words).
This mysterious friend “Todd,” didn’t say “get down here, there’s this girl you have just got to meet, she’s awesome,” like normal people. No, he set up a ruse most people would turn down. Cawthorn met the girl and married her.
Don’t blame the left for having Russia on its mind, a lot, especially when Russia seems involved in a story that makes no sense. It rang alarm bells with an ex-Deputy Director of the FBI:
I have questions.

A lot of people had questions and today Cawthorn is very angry that these questions are being asked. Rather than address the questions with facts that would make it far more obvious to people that nothing “wrong” went on, like telling us who “Todd” is, Cawthorn flipped the fck out and attacked the left, almost like he’d been caught or something:
North Carolina congressman Madison Cawthorn is back in the national spotlight for his story about a Russian casino and a fake fitness competition.
Some on social media turned immediately to speculation about whether Cawthorn had been the target of a Russian “honeypot” operation, an espionage tactic in which an agent uses seduction for access. Cawthorn mocked those commenters as “conspiracy theorists.”
Speculation aside, Cawthorn’s story itself raises a lot of questions. When did this all happen? Who did he travel with? Which casino? And who was Captain Todd?
Left-wing losers still bitter over their debunked Russia Hoax are spreading lies about me.
They love to slam "conspiracy theories." They are the true conspiracy theorists.

It is not a conspiracy “theory” if there was an actual conspiracy within the story. We couldn’t help but note that he didn’t deny anything. The “debunked” thing seems like a broader “everything to do with Russia and the MAGAs has already been debunked,” which is absolutely not true.

A little touchy there, aren’t you, Ace? Most people, when falsely accused of something, throw out a bunch of details that tend to at least give people pause as to whether there’s truth to the “conspiracy.” Instead, he simply attacked the left.
It would be interesting to know whether the root of the divorce was whether or not she (and her handler, if true) figured out Cawthorn was too fcking stupid to be worth it, or too big a risk, or whether the FBI told him, “We know your wife is a Russian spy and if you remain married you could really be in trouble.” Of course, there are a ton of other possible explanations and perhaps it’s not a Russian setup.
It would still be interesting to know.
