There is not one thing funny about racism. However, one should always cheer and be thankful when a racist is exposed, especially one with significant power. Additionally, one is very much allowed to laugh when that person uses the most ridiculous of excuses.

As many on the net noted tonight, a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, Roseanne Barr once used the “N-Word” and as she was caught, she blamed taking Ambien. The company that makes Ambien pointed out that, while Ambien does have significant side effects, the sudden onset of endogenous racism is not one of them.

A Louisiana judge is trying the same approach. Smartly, she’s not going to be as specific, she doesn’t name “one specific” sedative, only that she was on one. She is wealthy, powerful, and beautiful (appearing), her doctor probably takes very good care of her and she likely has her pick of goodies.

Lafayette. Louisiana City Judge Michelle Odinet’s home was burglarized and, in filming the damage, many people – including Michelle – can be heard using awful racial slurs in the background according to KLFY.com:

“I was a wreck and am still unable to sleep,” Odinet said.

Following the incident, a cellphone video of security footage from Odinet’s home has been posted on several social media sites. Several people in the video are heard yelling racist slurs during playback of the incident.

In a response to those accusations, Odinet said: “I was given a sedative at the time of the video. I have zero recollection of the video and the disturbing language used during it.” Odinet said.

People who cover American politics for a living are very familiar with sedatives, love them dearly, and regularly fight with American physicians who do not have to cover American politics. We know our sedatives. They do not cause us to use racial slurs, indeed they do not cause us to even make-up words, never mind use real words we normally would not use.

But the judge doesn’t have much more, does she? The net isn’t impressed.

OMG, she is just a darling ugly-ass racist! And it’s shaken that very pretty ugly AF soul.

If anything, sedatives, like alcohol, impair judgment, that part of you that would normally say “Don’t say this because you’ll get in trouble, and you don’t believe it – you’re just mad at the world,” and are more likely to reveal true feelings than bring false ones to the surface.

But we suppose we’ll leave that to Judge Rancid Racist Odinet.
