Those of us responsible for putting out 10-12 posts per day as the news rolls on have to be careful about trying to be the grammar police or mock anyone for a typo. We make mistakes, most of them get attributed to trying to get as much out to our loyal readers to contemplate or entertain, as possible. Some mistakes are due to straight stupidity. The name on the bottom of the column owns them all.
So, we’re really careful about mocking mistakes.
Of course, everyone’s favorite thing to “one-up” someone on Twitter is the infamous “Your” versus “You’re” thing. There are many of us that type phonetically and are much more likely to mix up a “there/their” or “here/hear” than the “your/you’re,” thing. The “You’re” thing springs straight from “you are” and that’s awfully hard to get wrong.
The people that get it wrong should have it pointed out, for their own benefit, just like people who write “alot,” instead of “a lot,” just point it out, don’t be mean. If one really wants to be nice about it, say “I used to do it, too, until someone pointed it out to me,” even if it’s not true. Just help people out.
Today, Eric Swalwell, who makes women swoon anyway, went further with a MAGA who tried his best to insult Swalwell and it just didn’t end up well at all. We call this a first-round knockout:
Eric Swalwell gets hotter everytime he takes MAGA head-on. https://t.co/N7fa1lhgUY

It is the “much better” that makes it art. You know that it was the MAGA guy who walked away feeling smacked on the ass for that little exchange.
