When Donald Trump puts out a book, you can be sure of a few things.

It will be the best book ever written, perhaps a bit short of “The Art of the Deal,” and it will come behind the Bible because votes, that’s why. But it will sell like no book ever before.

Whereas other presidents put out memories, usually in the first year (though Obama’s is taking a while because he actually writes his own, no ghostwriter involved, and his is in two halves), Trump is in a bit of a conundrum. He expects a book deal for a memoir, but it has to have an advance higher than Obama’s, and he also has to be careful so as to not look like he’s done in politics, that this is his statement as to what happened.

So, why not a picture book? Perfect! It’s nothing but a look back to make his voters yearn for a future with him right back to where he was.

Right-wing blog Just the News says, “Fans of former President Donald Trump have bought over 70,000 copies of his new coffee table book, “Our Journey Together,” in its first week on sale. The book’s publisher expects it will have sold 100,000 copies by the end of the week.”

As for sales? Well, Queerty is all over it:

According to Junior, the book, which retails for $75 (or $230 for a signed copy), will probably sell more than 100,000 copies by the end of the week. Some people on Twitter have already begun claiming the book has moved over 1 million copies, which is even more impressive considering Winning Team Publishing only had 100,000 copies printed initially.

“I think it would easily qualify to be a New York Times No. 1 bestseller,” Don Jr. tells opinion writer Paul Bedford at the Washington Examiner. “And we’re doing it ourselves, taking on a big old industry. It’s been pretty awesome.”

Queerty then goes on to point out that Barnes and Noble declares the book to be one of its bestsellers but it doesn’t appear on their top 100, and it doesn’t appear anywhere on Amazon’s bestseller list. In other words, one has to take Trump’s word that they’re selling that many coffee table books off their own website. And Trump would NEVER lie about book sales!!! That would be like lying about crowd sizes…or his weight, or his athletic ability, etc.

No.

Who would expect a Trump to tell the truth about something like book sales?
