Fox News cannot quite get its story straight as to its Christmas tree, the one that burned down. All Fox News knows is that it is by far the biggest story in the United States this week.

Actually, the biggest story of the week is Mark Meadows and all his problems, the positive COVID test, then the DC Court of Appeals case, and then a portion of Meadows records getting into the hands of the Select Committee.

Perhaps that, too, is playing a role in why the Fox Christmas tree fire is getting the kind of coverage it is getting on Fox. They have called it a hate crime, they have said that the tree symbolized Christmas and Hanukkah, and now they’re saying that it’s akin to Pearl Harbor.

According to Rolling Stone:

The fire was allegedly started by a homeless man who may have been mentally ill, according to New York City’s police commissioner.

The network’s outrage crescendoed on Thursday when a Fox News contributor compared event, which caused a grand total of zero injuries, to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, which cost the lives of 2,403 American military personnel and 68 civilians.

The Five on Thursday broadcast a much-hyped lighting ceremony for the rebuilt tree, during which contributor Rev. Jacques DeGraff got so caught up in the moment that he was compelled to reach back into history for a comparison. “Somebody asked me why are you here,” DeGraff called out. “I’m here because these colors don’t run! Eighty years ago this week, they tried to extinguish the darkness in a place called Pearl Harbor. We didn’t fold then, and we won’t fold now because we have come this far by faith!”

Oh, please. STFU! What an awful thing to say! The United States lost over 2400 lives in Pearl Harbor, what a disgraceful thing to say about those lives and their families.

But that’s Fox News for you. The alternative is to talk about Mark Meadows and the plans revealed in his devices.
