The story in the last three days, covered from nearly every angle is Trump’s recklessness in exposing hundreds (the Washington Post counted about 500 possible victims exposed to Trump after his positive test). And yet Melania tested positive, too – though we don’t know when she first tested positive, But this was during the height of the campaign and Melania spent a great deal of time with Trump, particularly at this point.

Greg Sargent of the Washington Post noted that Melania likely tested positive sometime along the week, or at least was exposed more than anyone, and should have been quarantined, and yet not only was not quarantined but beside Trump just about the entire time. Melania could have exposed any number of them.

The Trump family has long treated rules and laws as nuisances that are only for the little people. And the news that Donald Trump tested positive for covid-19 before the first 2020 presidential debate shows that this tendency may be even more depraved and malevolent than you thought.

It turns out that this revelation, which comes in a new book by former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, also implicates members of Trump’s family, including Melania Trump and Donald Trump Jr.”

And not a single person should be surprised. Why would any Trump important to the campaign care about exposing anyone else to COVID?

“That’s because multiple people around Trump, including his wife, Melania Trump, and his kids Donald Jr. and Eric, all sat maskless at the Sept. 29 debate, according to contemporaneous reports, despite the fact that debate attendees were required to wear masks,” Sargent explained. “As numerous reporters personally witnessed at the time, Trump’s family members did this after rebuffing a direct request to mask up from a doctor with the Cleveland Clinic, which helped organize the debate. That doctor even offered them masks, and they declined.”

Even knowing – at the very least – that they’d spent the last 2-3 days around someone who had tested positive and refused to get the follow-up test, but was already showing signs.
