Melania was notorious for her Christmas decorations during her time as FLOTUS, some of which were straight out of the scene of a horror movie. Most notably, in 2018 she had a room full of blood-red trees that made some cringe and others laugh as it became a meme on the internet.
While many thought those trees were gone for good now that Jill Biden has taken over as First Lady, they are once again appearing in an upcoming “charity” event thrown by the former president and First Lady. The holiday fundraiser is expected to attract about 90-250 people, including Trump’s former press secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
McEnany tweeted about the event, mentioning her fond memories of the Christmas parties at the White House, and saying that the party will be adorned in honor of Melania’s White House Christmas decor.
While McEnany calls that decor “stunning”, most people would agree that “shocking” would be a better word. Whether they go with Melania’s blood trees or her dark hall of Christmas horror, there wasn’t a time when the former First Lady’s decorations qualified as festive.
One of my favorite White House memories was the beautiful Christmas Party!
On December 3rd at 7 pm, Naples Winter Christmas will feature President Donald Trump and stunning decorations inspired by First Lady Melania Trump’s White House.

More important than the decorations is what people will be doing at this charity event. For the low price of only $10,000 a person, or $30,000 for a family of four, those who donate will be given exactly one (and only one!) selfie with Donald and Melania Trump. And it’s anyone’s guess exactly how much of that money will actually go to charity, and what percent will go directly into Trump’s pocket.
According to the organizer of the event, Brad Keltner, “This is not a political fundraiser. The president is doing this to benefit several local causes in a community that strongly supports him.” However, he later went on to say that the ex-president, whom he had addressed incorrectly, would indeed be taking at least a portion of the profits.
Twitter had a field day:
Notice there's no venue. Anywhere on the page. Event in two weeks, and no way to tell where it is other than "Naples, Fl."
"Give us $20,000, THEN we'll give you the location!"

Is it a charity event? It says "Sponsorship Levels" ($10,000 per person) but doesn't say what is being sponsored. It's run by WHIP Fundraising, which says it raises money for charities. If so what charity is this event raising money for? Where does my $10,000 go?
