Pro Publica has just released a dam break on the January 6th events, at least as they pertain to the rally beforehand, which many think was one segment of a continuous plan to have Pence out of the Senate chamber when it came time to vote.
Pro Publica has obtained text messages sent by Kimberly Guilfoyle to a Katrina Pierson on January 4th – two days prior to the big event, bragging that she herself had raised $3 million for the rally, thus making Kimberly the first person within Trump’s inner circle to be tied directly to both the money and the event itself.
According to Pro Publica:
In a series of text messages sent on Jan. 4 to Katrina Pierson, the White House liaison to the event, Guilfoyle detailed her fundraising efforts and supported a push to get far-right speakers on the stage alongside Trump for the rally, which sought to overturn the election of President Joe Biden.
Guilfoyle’s texts, reviewed by ProPublica, represent the strongest indication yet that members of the Trump family circle were directly involved in the financing and organization of the rally. The attack on the Capitol that followed it left five dead and scores injured.
As this site has been saying for some time. It was billed as a protest, not a “rally.” So many facts have gone down the memory hole, one can be forgiven for forgetting that the last official Trump campaign “rally” took place days before in Georgia when Trump campaigned for the two senate candidates. The “protest” was supposed to be an entirely different matter.
Trump had not even announced that he was going to speak at the “protest” until days before the event. But the new evidence shows that at least Kimberly (and thus, perhaps, others within the Trump family) are now directly tied to financing what ended up as a riot and attempted government takeover.
The text messages show that Guilfoyle expressed specific concerns that she might not be allowed to speak on stage at the Jan. 6 rally. Pierson responded that Trump himself set the speaking lineup and that it was limited to people he selected, including some of his children and Amy Kremer, a grassroots activist who organized the event.
The paragraph above seems as pertinent as any. Why was Trump picking the speakers? We had been told this was a protest organized by outside interests. How was Trump so intimately involved that he would be the one picking the speakers? And why was Kimberly so set upon speaking herself – other than self-promotion?
One should have been coming anyway, but one can now expect Kimberly Guilfoyle will be subpoenaed soon enough.
