It looks like Wyoming’s Liz Cheney is getting some first-hand experience in what it looks like to be attacked by hypocritical Republicans. Despite being extremely conservative on fiscal and even most social policies, and despite being the daughter of the most conservative Vice President in America’s history, Cheney is apparently not Trumpian enough for the current GOP.

That’s not just limited to the Wyoming GOP recently voting not to recognize her as a Republican anymore, either. Cheney has been feuding with Texas Senator Ted Cruz recently, with Cruz accusing her of moving so far left that the only path for her to election in 2024 would be through the Democratic primary, and Cheney mocking him over his hinting at supporting Texas’ secession from the US.

They’ve both stepped it up since then.

On Tuesday, Cruz appeared on his friend Sean Hannity’s program on Fox News, and he tore into Liz Cheney once again, saying:

She hates Donald Trump so much that it just has overridden everything in her system. She’s lashing out at Trump and Republicans and everything, and she’s become a Democrat and it’s sad to watch what has happened. It is Trump Derangement Syndrome.

But the 3-term Congresswoman wasn’t having it. In a scathing rebuke given to CNN reporter Melanie Zanona, Cheney recalled Cruz’s cowardice toward the former president even as Trump had insulted his family, insinuated that his father was a criminal, and called his wife ugly.

Trump broke Ted Cruz. A real man would be defending his wife, and his father, and the Constitution.

If Liz Cheney ever gets sick of dealing with the childlike antics of the Trump GOP, she’s welcome to come and join the Democrats — I’m sure they’d have her.

She might have to tone down the part where she’s related to Darth Vader, though.
