First of all, don’t come for Taylor Swift.

I may not be her biggest fan, but I can recognize talent when I see it, and Taylor is a bonafide superstar. Her fans around the world will attest to just how amazing she is, and by all accounts, she is a kind person with a big heart.

You know who hates her, though? Donald Trump. I’m not going to say it’s because she’s all of those things, especially since we know a staffer got fired for liking Taylor’s Instagram post in support of Joe Biden. But that’s not out of the realm of possibility. There are Good Guys and Bad Guys, and we know that Taylor and Trump fall on different sides of that fence.

But another aide inside the Trump White House was warned of a similar fate, just for playing a Taylor Swift song.

Olivia Troye was actually working for the Vice President when she got the ominous warning from a colleague. She told MSNBC:

I remember a moment in the spring where I came back very angry after a meeting where I lost an argument with someone [over] something I didn’t agree with related to the pandemic, and I came back and was playing Taylor Swift very loud in my office that night.

And I had a colleague knock on the door and he said ‘are you trying to get fired?’ and I was super confused about that and I was like ‘for being blunt in meetings or for what?’

[And he said] ‘Well I don’t think [Taylor’s] a fan of Trump’s, so if someone hears that you should really watch your back, you should be careful on that.’
