Donald Trump is like that kid who just won’t let his parents forget that they never took him to Disneyland. Except imagine that kid still whining about it when he’s 75 years old.

There is absolutely nothing that anyone will ever be able to do for Trump that will help him get over having lost to Joe Biden in the 2020 election. He cannot conceive of it. It was not possible, and therefore did not happen, and thus, is a hardship that everyone else has had to endure as well.

That’s the message he sent to American servicemembers today as he filmed a special tribute video for them in honor of Veterans’ Day. Sitting at a desk in a room clearly dressed up to look like the Oval Office, Trump did his signature hand-folding as he spoke:

On this Veterans’ Day, I’d like to pay tribute to all of those incredible people, and you are indeed incredible people, who served so well, and so strong, and so powerfully in the United States Armed Forces. We love you, our nation respects you, the world respects you.

And we will come back. Our country has gone through a lot. The last period of time has been very, very tough, watching what you had to watch. But our country will be back, and it will be back stronger than ever.

Happy Veterans’ Day.

“Watching what you had to watch”? Ironically, it was only the older crowd of veterans who even voted for Trump. Among active-duty servicemembers, Biden beat Trump by 4 points.

I’m sure Trump remembers that very differently as well. He can’t imagine a world in which anyone who’s ever held a gun didn’t vote for him.
