The Detroit Free Press is reporting on the fact that Sidney Powell and her “Kraken Krew” face some severe consequences for filing one of the most ridiculous lawsuits in the post-election period, this one in reference to Michigan.

Every attorney knows that if they file any sort of lawsuit that deviates from the norm and isn’t filed in good faith (at all), but instead more for show or for money, they are going to face paying the other side’s legal fees. The judge hasn’t signed the order yet but it would be very odd if the judge did not. The Wisconsin judge has already leveled attorneys’ fees on them.

The real test will be whether the judge orders sanctions on top of the legal fees. The judge could easily apply some of the sanctions available  The judge had been pretty direct in her assessment of the case:

Lawyers representing the City of Detroit and from the office of the Michigan Attorney General submitted their requests for legal fees Wednesday, two weeks after U.S. District Judge Linda Parker determined the punishment for Powell and her team included covering all legal costs.

“This lawsuit should never have been filed. The State Defendants and the Intervenor-Defendants should never have had to defend it,” Parker wrote in her Aug. 25 sanctions ruling.

If (Powell and her team) are not ordered to reimburse the state defendants and (Detroit) for the reasonable fees and costs incurred to defend this action, counsel will not be deterred from continuing to abuse the judicial system to publicize their narrative.

So, now that the fees are submitted, it looks like all that’s left for the judge to do is approve of the amount and determine for herself whether Powell shouldn’t pay more.
