If you have ever spoken to a MAGA anti-vaxer, they all have their favorite arguments, many coming from the same places. They all like to point to Israel, which is publishing data from vaccination results that the MAGAs cannot even properly assess: For example, in Israel, the majority of patients who are gravely ill are vaccinated. But nearly everyone in Israel is vaccinated and thus the majority so of course, the majority are going to be vaccinated patients, moreover, they don’t point at real numbers. Are their ICUs full? Almost empty?

They all have their favorite argument, “Look at the 1970s vaccine for…” expecting everyone to say, “Yep, those possible side effects mean it’s a bad idea to get vaccinated.” It is infuriating because last we checked, COVID – especially the delta variety, had significant side effects itself.

A Georgia man who died of COVID recorded a heart-breaking message to his friends prior to his death. Kevin McKenzie, of Senoia, Georgia, died on September 2nd, but before he passed, he posted a message to his friends to please get vaccinated.

“On Aug. 24, McKenzie posted a photo from his hospital room, saying that he appreciated prayers but he needed something else from his friends and family.”

“Yes, there is something I want everyone to do for me that I was too damn stubborn to do, and that’s if you haven’t yet done so, go get your COVID vaccine. Trust me you don’t want to be where I a now and as soon as I get over this I’ll be getting my vaccine.”

Like all too many, he never did “get over it,” and he likely had the delta variant (It’s the dominant one in the south) because he was just 33. His fiance wrote:

“He won’t even know how his story saved so many lives because the amount of people who are getting vaccinated after hearing his battle! He was just 33 years old and had his whole life ahead of him.”

It is heartbreaking. But “so damned stubborn…” why? Because the MAGAs all marinate in the same echo chamber where getting vaccinated is akin to agreeing with Joe Biden and they will not be caught agreeing with Biden.
