Trump started out using a lot of swear words, cursing, the type of language no one would ever have thought possible in a presidential campaign. He used so many f-bombs that he had to be pulled aside by Huckabee and told that if he wanted the evangelical vote, he had to stop with the f-bombs. Of course, this is the man who later went on to reference (by implication) that his fingers weren’t short and thus there was “no problem down there,” during a presidential debate.
Then the Access Hollywood tape emerged. Had there not been a debate two days later, and had Trump not said “Because you would be in jail” to Hillary Clinton, he might not have been the Republican nominee. There was talk about pulling him off the ticket, but not after he threatened to jail Hillary during the debate.
Here and there, throughout his term, Trump would occasionally get caught up in old habits and revert to language no one would ever thought they’d hear publicly uttered by a president. But he mostly cleaned up his act. Now, as he gets further and further away from the presidency, and obsesses more and more on the election, the more Trump sees people simply accepting it, the harder Trump will fight and talk about the past. This is to Democrats’ advantage. It will really benefit the Democrats if Trump finds himself resorting to old habits, sounding like a regular guy, swearing and dropping the f-bombs, less “presidential” by the day.
Of late, Trump has been doing two to three interviews a day, purportedly to take advantage of Biden’s supposed difficulties in Afghanistan, but all Trump ever wants to talk about is the election, and now he’s come right back around to cursing his way through them:
“He has a group of smart people that are very devious. And Republicans, I mean, honestly they don’t cheat or they’re not good at cheating and I’m not asking them to cheat. We want fair elections. But the Democrats cheat on elections.”
“It was a rigged election and I’ll say it loudly. You know, they want to silence people with that sh*t. I have to speak the truth. I just speak the truth.”
“We got them by surprise and they said we’ll never let that happen again.”
“The angriest person there is right now is Hillary Clinton because she told them, ‘Why didn’t you do that for me?’ We won this last election in a landslide.”
Oh, he’s mad! And he’ll only be getting madder and madder! Everything is a conspiracy! He won in a landslide, a landslide I tell you! It isn’t good enough to say he won, he won in a “landslide.” What utter bullshit. We suspect we’ll be hearing that word far more often from him, sounding less presidential by the day, and – again, benefitting Democrats as the whole sh*tshow implodes.
