Shana Chappell is a grieving mother. She lost her son at the Kabul airport explosion. To the extent that she took her anger out on Joe Biden, a president expects such when going to the return ceremony. Families are at their weakest. God only knows what some of us might have had to say to Donald Trump if he decided to talk to us, “He knew what he signed up for.”

But Chappall is also a full-red hatted MAGA because she used her purported statement of “grief” to also accuse Biden of not being the real president and having stolen the election. Despite the fact that she’s a grieving mother who is not well, her statement went well beyond grief: Full Statement Here

After i lay my son to rest you will be seeing me again! Remember i am the one who stood 5 inches from your face and was letting you know i would never get to hug my son again, hear his laugh and then you tried to interrupt me and give me your own sob story and i had to tell you “that this isn’t about you so don’t make it about you!!!”

That is called trying to bond in shared grief, not making it about Biden. Every human being who tries to comfort another over a loss does the exact same thing, save perhaps Trump. We skip ahead to where Chappell herself gets offensive no matter the circumstances:

i then proceeded to tell you again how you took my son away from me and how i will never get to hug him, kiss him, laugh with him again etc… u turned to walk away and i let you know my sons blood was on your hands and you threw your hand up behind you as you walked away from me like you were saying “ ok whatever!!! You are not the president of the United States of America Biden!!!! Cheating isn’t winning!!!You are no leader of any kind! You are a weak human being and a traitor!!!! You turned your back on my son, on all of our Heros!!! you are leaving the White House one way or another because you do not belong there!MY SONS BLOOD IS ON YOUR HANDS!!! All 13 of them, their blood is on your hands!!!! If my president Trump was in his rightful seat then my son and the other Heros would still be alive!!!!

The woman is clearly unhinged. Joe Biden did not take her son away from her. But it is the pure MAGA in her that is probably the root of the personalization. The grief is expected, making it so personal to Biden is not. She also then accused Biden of looking at his watch five times. Other people on the ground say that Biden was holding Beau’s Rosary and praying.

Regardless, the point is, this woman isn’t well and a lot of that is understandable. At this point, we should probably have expected Trump to jump right in, as he did, affirming everything Chappell said. Trump’s message comes from the Tennessean:

“Shana, you are 100% correct. If I were President, your wonderful and beautiful son Kareem would be with you now, and so would the sons and daughters of others, including all of those who died in the vicious Kabul airport attack. Civilians should have been brought out first, along with our $85 billion of equipment, with the Military coming out very safely after all was clear. I love you, and I love Kareem,” he said in a statement.

That is disgusting, whether Chappell knows it or not, Trump is using her son’s death for his own political gain.

Trump was president. He had four years to get out of Afghanistan. He made an agreement with the Taliban. He didn’t get the troops out of Afghanistan, in part because it wouldn’t be easy, under any circumstances. The fact that Trump would take political advantage of this woman’s grief is infinitely more offensive than Biden checking his watch (even if he did check his watch).

Not that it matters, but in Trump’s first year as president, 33 U.S. military personnel died in action overseas. We aren’t sure how Trump could “guarantee” that Chappell’s son would be alive today.

Just Trump being a disgusting human being. We are sorry for Ms. Chappell’s loss and hope she can work through her grief.
