FIRST WORLD PROBLEM:
A relatively trivial or minor problem or frustration (implying a contrast with serious problems such as those that may be experienced in the developing world).
E.G. “It’s a First World problem, but still if you’re staying at a 5-star resort you expect some decent service”

The United States is unlikely to fight a true, military against military, civil war. But we should be careful that we don’t pat ourselves on the back about it. It is almost certain that our military’s strength alone prevents even the conversation (except among 3% of the wackiest). Sure, there are parts of our military that might “MAGA-up” and Stop the Steal, all the way. And there would likely be more (especially at the top) that would never violate their oath. The two sides could divide like the “last Civil War.”
But that’s a bit tough when you have airplanes that cost $100 million each, satellites that cost more, all that. It would be a major “inconvenience” to fight a real civil war. It is mutually assured destruction, even without nuclear weapons. But if we limited ourselves to the weapons of the last Civil War…
We could easily be the first “First World Nation” to fight a “Third World Civil War” over something so gawdamned stupid it’s amazing we aren’t all dead from humiliation: Masks.
No, we’re not even talking vaccines. We haven’t even graduated to going to Civil War over the most successful vaccine ever developed in the history of mankind. Some people in this country are genuinely threatening others, with violence, over… masks. These same people would likely wear a MAGA mask to bed if Trump said it guaranteed the best…
Never mind. The Third World is begging for vaccines, scared that they’ll die of the disease. We have people threatening other people’s lives over wearing masks. America, 2021. Can a country claim to have “First World problems” when they fight like an unorganized, poor, angry, third-world nation?
Not with this guy:
At protest in Santa Monica today before the vote on mask-mandate, Jason Lefkowitz has the home addresses of each LA City Council member on his sign. He says they are going to the homes of whoever votes for it, and if it passes, it’s “civil war, get your guns.” From @chadloder pic.twitter.com/QICGpuT2sc
