Almost undoubtedly, the hardest duty any president must undertake is to represent the country as consoler in chief. Obviously, the president isn’t there during tragedies because families are impressed or that there is less pain because the president is there. As all here know, the president is there to represent the nation’s support of the families.

Some of us still cannot believe that Obama made it through Sandy Hook, and we cannot comprehend the families’ ability. Obama teared up several times during his presidency mentioning those kids.

Presidents have a special duty to go to Dover, Delaware, the Air Force base that receives the bodies of military members lost in action. Trump liked to talk about going every time. It was a lie. According to HuffPo:

Trump has traveled to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware exactly four times ― fewer than half as many times as his vice president ― and avoided going at all for nearly two years after getting berated for his incompetence by the father of a slain Navy SEAL, according to a former White House aide who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The Navy SEAL’s father was mad because at Trump’s incompetence. Trump ordered the raid five days after taking office because… Obama would not. Too much risk for too insignificant a cause. Trump wanted to be bigger and badder than that pus*y Obama, but then couldn’t take being blamed.

As we have said any number of times, Republicans cannot come up with new complaints about a president. They recycle the complaints made about the last Republican one. “Senility, 25th Amendment, impeachment,” we have heard them all since Biden took office. Now we are hearing that Biden wasn’t at Dover with the families to accept the bodies of their loved ones. If any president would be there it is Biden. He was. Many of us saw it on television.

We can assure the GOP that President Biden was there. We can also assure the GOP that if one of the family members complains to Biden about the mission, he will listen, with dignity, and then say he is so sorry for their loss. It will not deter him from going to Dover the next time.
