Wow. We are going to have to really watch our wording on this one to get past certain rules on certain social media platforms.
Kimberly Klacik is a former GOP candidate for Congress. Evidently, she was not Candace Owen’s favorite for the Maryland seat. Perhaps the two women believed that there wasn’t room in the MAGA party for two beautiful black women. We kid. We have no idea why the two don’t like each other, only that they most certainly do not.
Klacik is suing Owens for defamation over a 44 minute Instagram live video. Owens made what the Baltimore Sun calls a “series of criminal allegations against Klacik, including tax and campaign finance fraud, money laundering, doing drugs, and working as the “Madame” of a club where women take their clothes off, in public, in front of men, and get money. (Did we get through?)
From Mediaite:
Law&Crime obtained court documents from the lawsuit Klacik has filed against Owens, and Klacik’s lawyer is arguing that the video was an extension of a “defamatory smear campaign” Owens has waged against his client. Klacik’s attorney, Jacob Frenkel, further argues that Klacik has lost out on a book deal, media appearances and other financial, political opportunities because of Owens’ claims.
“Ms. Klacik and her family continue to be harassed daily, with Ms. Klacik specifically receiving harmful and degrading comments because of the defamatory claims made by the Defendant,” the lawsuit states. “Defendant has defamed and injured Ms. Klacik; accordingly, Ms. Klacik initiates this action to vindicate her rights under civil law and seek compensatory and punitive damages as a result of Defendant’s conduct.”
We don’t doubt that the comments were harmful. Nor do we doubt that Candace Owens is above making a bunch of stuff up, or at least exaggerating. The courts will settle it all out, but Owens better hope that she can rely on “the truth” as the ultimate defense. Otherwise, she loses $20 million. If Owens has $20 million lying around, it simply reaffirms that having a heart and a head – thus being on the left, is terrible economic burden. Thankfully, it pays in everything that counts… sort of.
