So, wait. Now we have an issue.

The entire reason, or at least the entire stated reason, that the MAGA-GOP wouldn’t support an independent investigation into January 6th was that they couldn’t use the January 6th investigation to go back to Black Americans looting cities. The Congressional MAGAs desperately wanted to make this about what black people did, too. But, in fact, very few BLM participated in any violence, and the MAGAs in Congress know it. The violence occurred at night and was done by a combination of anarchists, Proud Boys, provocateurs, and young angry black men. There was almost no BLM violence last summer. But now that the Proud Boys are rioting in Portland, calling for the release of their “political prisoners,” will the Republicans now want an investigation?

Of course, not.

But this was the logical next step, referring to the rioters in prison as political prisoners and protesting. As we said months ago, the first step would be to whitewash January 6th altogether. We heard about tourists gone bad, we heard about all the love in the air. We said that they would make martyrs, Ashli Babbitt is one and one is all they need. Trump will always make himself the other martyr. Last, we said that they need to delegitimize the court process and shift the paradigm, these are not rioters, they are freedom fighters and now they are held in jail as political prisoners.

We called this out months ago, not because we’re a bunch of geniuses, but because this is always the natural progression of things and we research stuff that is written by geniuses. We have heard the beginning rumblings about the “political prisoner” talk before, but now it’s coming out in full, at least in Portland. Why is it always Portland? We have no idea. It is such a beautiful, progressive city, surrounded by very red… maybe that’s why Portland.

But this is Portland today. Is Fox covering the property damage that they’re always so concerned about? Much more importantly, is this going to be confined to Portland, or is this just the beginning? We have been promised that more violence is coming and perhaps it will come in this form, the protests against holding rioters in jail.

So, again, we find ourselves asking, will the MAGAs in Congress demand action against all this destruction of property in Portland? They are “burning their city down.” Or does that only count if it can be blamed on black people?
