We should all be in agreement up top that Tangtang Zhao, a Chicago pharmacist, will not waste away in prison for 120 years and not just because he won’t live that long. No, these charges, if proven, will be consolidated by the prosecutors. But it doesn’t mean that the crime at issue isn’t serious. He was selling fake vaccination cards.

At first, it sounds even less serious than selling oxycontin or one of the other highly abused drugs. But upon further contemplation, he could be responsible for many breakthrough cases of COVID among the vaccinated, and perhaps deaths due to COVID among unvaccinated who managed to find a workaround themselves. Put in that context, it doesn’t seem quite as innocuous. Link

According to court documents, in March and April 2021, Tangtang Zhao, 34, of Chicago, sold 125 authentic CDC vaccination cards to 11 different buyers for approximately $10 per card. Zhao was a licensed pharmacist in Illinois and was employed at Company 1, a pharmacy which distributed and administered COVID-19 vaccines at its physical locations nationwide.

As required by the CDC, Company 1 provided a CDC Vaccination Record Card to each vaccine recipient. Zhao, who worked at Company 1 as a pharmacist during that time, obtained and subsequently offered authentic CDC vaccination cards for sale online. The indictment charges Zhao with 12 counts of theft of government property.

“Knowingly selling COVID vaccination cards to unvaccinated individuals puts millions of Americans at risk of serious injury or death,” said Special Agent in Charge Emmerson Buie Jr. of the FBI’s Chicago Field Office. “To put such a small price on the safety of our nation is not only an insult to those who are doing their part in the fight to stop COVID-19, but a federal crime with serious consequences.”

He sold them on e-Bay, a total of 12, with a ten-year potential sentence on each one. Again, we think that this becomes a pretty serious charge upon further reflection. The other thing of which we are sure – and obviously so are many others, it is regrettable that there were not more official government documents available when one is vaccinated so that copies are not as easy to fake.

One can be sure that this is not the only case, perhaps just one of the first about which we’re hearing.
