Liz Cheney continues to be correct, although, in this one, she’s not telling the entire story. The story she does tell is correct.

Cheney is taking heat on Twitter for suggesting that the Trump administration caused the messy withdrawal from Afghanistan and that it was exacerbated by President Joe Biden. We have said for two days that we don’t like this pointing back and forth over Afghanistan because the situation is too tragic, especially for the young girls in Afghanistan. We have a special place in our heart for young girls (many staff members have a proto-woman at home), and these girls will be going through hell, they have never lived under these types of restrictions. Will they even be allowed to go to school? Hang out with boys and talk?

It is offensive to hear the political talk back and forth here. Additionally, if we’re going to assign blame, there are four administrations that bear the blame over 2o years of policy, including an administration in which Cheney’s father served for eight years. Liz is correct in saying that Trump is responsible for the horrific withdrawal, and it has been exacerbated by Biden. But she never mentioned that the best scenario was a five to six year engagement, stabilize the country, get Afghan forces trained up, get a democratic government set up, and then withdraw, the same as we’re doing now.

But Cheney is really taking the heat (again) for simply telling the truth.
