We on the staff really try to stay away from, “Yeah, but your guy did…” and yet a lot gets through because it almost has to, one hears something every day. But it’s not every day that one hears “Biden Must Resign” trending on Twitter. Now, please know, the answer is, “Whatever,” and move on. Definitely. But they’ve picked an interesting topic over which to be seriously insane.

It is impossible to know whether pulling out of Afghanistan is a good idea or a bad idea. We didn’t beat the Taliban, that’s for sure. And the country will be infinitely more dangerous and horribly run for the average man or [especially] woman. It is heartbreaking, Additionally, we have a lot of service members who developed great relationships with the Afghani people and they now worry about their friends and want to know what they fought for. The Taliban is also a dangerous group on the world scene, that’s why we went in the first place.

On the other hand, Americans have been there 20 years with no noticeable progress in defeating the Taliban. What we did was protect the big cities and keep a lot of the countryside, peaceful, but didn’t do much to further the mission. We trained Afghani forces and gave them the hardware they needed. How long were we supposed to stay, another 20 years operating as their police force while more Americans died?

Impossible decision for people like us to make. One thing we know, a president would be criticized for deciding to go either way.

And so the MAGAs are criticizing the decision to pull out, forgetting that Trump bragged about avoiding wars and getting forces out of certain areas, and more importantly, forgetting that it was Trump who wanted to invite the Taliban over for a chat at Camp David right near the anniversary of 9-11.

That’s not stopping the MAGAs. Biden must resign over this! Their guy was impeached twice for a bit worse stuff, but Biden must resign. Sigh.
