Everyone who has ever watched television (which, nowadays, means everyone over 35) knows you get one phone call after being arrested. Often with young people, that phone call is one of the hardest to make to mom and dad. “Please scoop up $1,000” to let me outta here. More often than not, one doesn’t have a strong case to make as to why mom and dad should – literally – bail you out.

It is different, however, when mom was so proud that she just had to go on Facebook and put the pictures up showing her son making America great by committing various felonies. At that point, our soon to be defendant is in a much stronger position to demand some bail money. According to Joemygod:

The mother of an alleged MAGA rioter wound up inadvertently getting her son arrested after she boasted about him storming the Capitol on Facebook.

A newly filed criminal complaint alleges that 39-year-old Washington state resident Tyler Slaeker engaged in violent and disorderly conduct while illegally trespassing on restricted grounds during the infamous January 6th riots.

As the complaint explains, Slaeker’s mother posted photos that he’d taken from the Capitol on her Facebook page and relayed his descriptions of what he said was going on during the deadly riots.

Maybe it’s time to stop using that word “inadvertently” when it comes to posting things on Facebook that lead to an arrest? Facebook is now the equivalent of the old western posters, wanted dead or alive for cattle rustling in Amarillo Texas. Thankfully, we’re long past the days where people took justice into their own hands. But with respect to wanted posters, the old west has nothing on Facebook, or on moms just gushing with pride that their son was rustling MAGAs.
