One-third of all new cases of COVID in the United States are now being reported from Florida and Texas, and they’ll migrate from there. Perhaps we should take a moment and concentrate upon what fact might bear upon both Florida and Texas such that they’d have such a disproportionate impact. Joe Biden took a moment and he lashed out at the governors:

President Joe Biden took aim Tuesday at local officials, including the Republican governors of Florida and Texas, over measures that prevented public health measures in the wake of surging COVID-19 cases.

“I say to these governors: please help, but you aren’t going to help at least get out of the way,” Biden said. “The people are trying to do the right thing. Use your power to save lives.”

Ron DeSantis is not going to let Joe Biden tell him to save the lives of the citizens of his states without paying a price, no one tells Ron-Don-DeSantis what to do except Don. This is the guy who is raising money of the “Don’t Fauci my Florida” and Ron DeSantis is the one whose ICUs are again filling with COVID cases, after a year now and it is entirely preventable. So DeSantis angrily shouted back the way a teenager might, an ad hominem attack that includes a completely blameless group:

Set aside some of the normal irreverence this site employs. Florida is dying and this guy is more interested in imitating Trump (by not giving a shit) than he is in saving the citizens of the state.

Gov. Cuomo needs to resign, tonight, and if not, be impeached, as soon as possible. But have no doubt, the dereliction of duty that DeSantis just displayed, one of life and death should get him tossed from office even quicker than Cuomo and that is really saying something.
