This is worth watching very closely and not just because everyone enjoys seeing a headline reading, “Donald Trump furious,” or “Donald Trump on the Floor Crying.” No, this is more serious because of what it says about the entire investigation, the process, who it might touch, and why Trump is upset, perhaps nervous?

Reporter Jamie Gangel said on CNN Tuesday night that the first day of the Capitol riot commission did not go well for Trump and that he felt it, likely in his gut. Something is wrong, it would seem. (Video Below)

Donald Trump is not happy. What happened today is what he didn’t want to happen. He did not want any committee, and to your point, he didn’t have Jim Jordan or any other allies there fighting back or pushing back.”

Fighting back about what? We were told that Donald Trump didn’t “incite” anyone. We were told that this was just a peaceful protest gone bad because of some renegade MAGAs. We were told Donald Trump had nothing to do with it. What does he have to fight back against? He didn’t control things… unless perhaps he did. There are no facts proving he did control things, and yet how else does one explain the need to “fight back”?

Trump has the option of saying, “What these officers went through is terrible, and it should never happen again. There is no place for violence in democracy no matter whose side one is on. I wish the officers well and hope for their recovery.” Every other president would make that statement. And yet, for some reason – something hard to put a finger on, everyone knows that Trump won’t. And maybe we know why.

“It also was devastating because four policemen in uniform, four heroes, sat there and in devastating, excruciating detail, talked about how Donald Trump supporters were racist, were violent, were trying to stop democracy. This was a bad day for Donald Trump.

We are going out on a limb here to say that we do not believe that any part of Trump cares about the fact that they were talking about trying to stop democracy, nor do we think he cares that much about the racism or violence. Remember, there were credible reports from sources in the White House who disclosed that Trump watched the entire thing live on television and loved it. Remember also, “Well, Kevin, I guess they’re just more upset about the election than you.” We are not convinced that Trump is upset about the racism, the violence, any of that.

We suspect that Trump is upset because the witnesses sounded so convincing, so sympathetic, and there was no one available to attempt to make them look like partisan hacks, people with an agenda. We suspect that Trump is scared and has always been scared of a real investigation into this matter. He would much prefer to move on.

We were told this was simply a protest gone bad. What does Trump have to lose? It is enough to make one wonder, does it not?
