One of the difficulties in creating a black and white world where at any given time a thing can be extremely positive or negative, depending on the last interaction, is they have to keep track of all these people and entities. It is exasperating to live life without principles. When everything is transactional, you need to be moving pieces around the big transaction board in the sky. Or something.
Evidently, Trump’s goals for the 2022 Republican-MAGA senate do not align with Kimberly Guilfoyle’s. That doesn’t sound like that big a problem until one realizes that Kimberly Guilfoyle is taking positions on these campaigns.
According to Mediaite:
Aides told Playbook that Trump has been openly griping that Guilfoyle joined ERIC GREITENS’ campaign for Senate in Missouri as national campaign chair, and he’s becoming increasingly short with Guilfoyle.
“Trump thinks Greitens is problematic, and that Kim is annoying,” said one Trump adviser. “He said, ‘Why the f— is she working for him?’
We do not want to even tiptoe around any number of reasons Kimberly would work for someone. We know that ordinarily, Kimberly is an adult and capable of thinking for herself. On the other hand, if she agreed to those rules inside the family.
Multiple advisers said Trump has been concerned that attaching Guilfoyle’s name to Greitens will look like an implicit endorsement from him. The first warning it would not came in a Washington Examiner story in April by David Drucker about Guilfoyle’s new gig. It said her affiliation with Greitens would not even mean an endorsement from her boyfriend DONALD TRUMP JR., let alone his father.
Since then, there’ve been signs that Guilfoyle is on the outs: She’d been nudging Trump’s team to join the Make America Great Again Action super PAC before finally being added to its roster late last month as national finance chair. NYT’s Maggie Haberman reported this week that both RUDY GIULIANI and his son ANDREW have also been pressuring Trump to support Greitens.
Guilfoyle wrote in a text that the notion that she and Trump are at odds is false.
If one is working for this guy and one doesn’t want to supporting him, the notion that the family is at odds is entirely true. The real question is whether it matters. Whether this is the first “kid” to sprout some wings and go their own before this whole thing implodes. Remember when Lara Lee was going to run for the Senate from North Carolina, Ivanka might even go after Marco. None of that is happening. It appears the Trumps are going to go to ground for a year, or at least try to do so.
This squabble is nothing unless it represents the first little bit of willingness to go out on one’s own way.
