It’s almost this apartheid-style open-air hostage situation, like oh you can have your freedom back if you get the jab. This is unacceptable, we’re going to fight back against it.

TUCKER CARLSON (HOST): That’s exactly right.

No, that’s not exactly right and not just because apartheid was based upon something people could not control, the color of their skin. To the extent vaccinated people are treated differently in the United States, it is due to a choice the unvaccinated made. Moreover, as if we even need to differentiate this further, apartheid was an official South African government program. There is no United States government program in existence that either forces someone to get vaccinated or keeps unvaccinated people out of government buildings or communities.

There may be schools that require vaccinations, but, some of us parents, know quite well that part of having a child enrolled in school involves having a vaccination record.

Kiek made a similar point earlier in the show when he said: “At Turning Point USA we are going to give everything we have to make sure that students are not going to have to live in a medical apartheid because they don’t want to get the vaccine.”

 

It is often difficult to tell whether these people on the far right actually believe the stuff they are – literally – selling, it would be interesting to know for a fact whether Tucker or Kirk are vaccinated. We don’t know.

There are three things of which we’re sure:

Their outrage and politicization of the issue makes them one hell of a lot of money.
Their strong reaction will lead to unnecessary deaths, some of which will be people who might’ve considered the vaccine had it not become so political.
Last, the more this virus swims among Americans, the more likely the “Delta Variant” becomes the “Echo Varient,” which might get around the vaccines in place, might be more contagious and might be stronger.

The same people who call us socialists and communists call this “apartheid.” Only private companies are making rules regarding entry contingent upon vaccination. That is called free-market capitalism. These people purportedly worship the system. When they like it.
