Kayleigh McEnany is now paid to rip President Biden at every opportunity, even ones that make absolutely no sense whatsoever. Meanwhile, we are fine with her continuing to try to pound on the whole “Biden senility” thing. We have our own doubts about Trump, whose family does have a history of such.
But let’s set aside the entire “senility” question for a second and – just for the sake of argument – let’s say that Biden has lost a step, two or three steps. Let’s pretend that’s true and not simply point out that Biden kicked Trump’s ass during the debates. If we acknowledge that Biden has lost some memory, or at least doesn’t retain it at a rate that he once did, is it somehow a bad thing for him to want to carry around cards to get accurate answers to people?
To us, we’re far more supportive of a president who is both unafraid of using some tools to maintain accuracy and it is also very reassuring to have a president who knows that every word spoken by the president of the United States is meaningful, or at least should be. One sentence from the president can move economic markets up and down, not just in New York, but in Tokyo, London, and Toronto. One sentence from a president can have a nation moving troops into a new posture. One sentence from a president will be analyzed by intelligence agencies all over the world, seeking to understand the United States’ next move. One sentence from a president can calm Americans or frighten them, and one sentence can cause the world’s biggest companies to change quarterly plans, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, they have their own “intelligence agencies” just like the independent nations they have become (for all practical purposes.)
Or, at least, one sentence from a president should have that kind of impact. The alternative is to have a president who is so full of shit and can say contradictory sentences in the same press briefing, putting the entire world on edge and holding companies and nations back from risk, even when the risk is peace and prosperity.
So we’re not even slightly offended by a president who wants to make sure that his sentence about a possible cyberattack is exactly correct. And, as you’ll see below, he very quickly corrected the person who ‘assumed” the attack was Russian. Last, we will take good judgment (which is a completely separate question over quick memory) every day of the week over some flash memory.
Perhaps that’s why Twitter buried Kayleigh with extra hot sauce for this:
Yes, yes he did awkwardly pull out notecards to answer a question he had just been briefed on… pic.twitter.com/hn8na9IbYZ

It was not at all “awkward” you little twit. Weren’t you the one talking about Obama’s “brother in a hut in Kenya” back in law school? Want to know what’s “awkward,” a guy that very much remembers January 6th and remembers smiling throughout, telling Kevin McCarthy, “Well, I guess they’re more upset with the election than you, Mike.”
Yes, the net had some responses:
Well, at least Biden listens to the briefs where your looser ex-boss didn’t and fed the American public a shit load of lies. Just think about it Missy! Is this really all you can think of to say in this day ‘n age – REALLY? https://t.co/WpKNNN6avp
