Tucker has the credibility of a four-year-old that has chocolate all over him and blames his six-month-old baby sister in her crib. This is the guy who accused the FBI of planning and inciting the January 6th riot.
This is the unabashed racist, who, after Derek Chauvin was convicted, blamed the guilty verdict on a jury afraid that their city might burn to the ground – ignoring the ten-minute long video showing that Chauvin could have saved Floyd’s life at any point.
He is also the guy whom – of late – some have noticed that he couldn’t possibly be doing Putin’s bidding better even if he was given specific directions.
That last one is a bit interesting. There is no evidence – none – that the Russians have approached members of our media to influence coverage. But one can take notice that Russians don’t bother even attempting a propaganda program without enlisting members of the media. It is all part of the secret sauce in Russian propaganda. So, even though there is no evidence that anyone in our media is assisting in spreading propaganda, it would be unusual if there were not individuals in some organizations, somewhere, under pressure.
So, it is just “interesting” that Tucker leads off a show stating with absolute certainty that “Biden’s NSA” (there is no such thing as “Biden’s NSA,” the specialized intelligence community doesn’t change much from administration to administration) is spying on him. Tucker says it is illegal for the NSA to spy on American citizens.
It is.
But if the NSA is spying on foreign adversaries, like, say – Russia, or Saudi Arabia, and they just happen to pick up the phone and call a member of our media, who – for the purposes of this article, we’ll call “Tucker Carlson,” it is not like the NSA is under an obligation to hang up, either.
We seriously doubt the NSA is spying on Carlson. We seriously doubt that Carlson is working with the Russians. But we don’t doubt that the guy below sounds awfully paranoid, doesn’t he?
