“We need you guys involved. We need you guys involved more than ever before. This is your country, this is your world,” she told Lara Trump. “You are the ones that have to reap the benefits of whatever vote decisions we make now.”

Minaj also claimed that many Black people in the United States previously felt they should “just vote blue.” She argued that a “major shift” is now taking place, although the article provides no details about the size or shape of that claimed change.

Her Fox News comments followed a February social media post in which she made another sweeping claim about Democrats and immigration. Minaj tweeted that Democrats were “flying in immigrants to vote b/c they reneged on all the promises they made to African Americans & can no longer get the African American vote by default.”

Whether that celebrity enthusiasm can actually persuade young voters to support Republicans this fall remains unresolved. Minaj may command attention, but she cannot personally join the people she is urging to vote red.

Still, her inability to vote has not slowed her public campaign for Trump or Republican candidates. Instead, she has continued using interviews, events, television appearances, and social media posts to broadcast her political allegiance.

Minaj made clear on Fox News that she does not intend to stop. “I’ve made it my mission to be someone that supports him,” she said, offering Republicans a celebrity endorsement from someone who remains legally unable to cast the vote she wants others to deliver.
