Writing strictly for myself and not the rest of the staff, I sort of appreciated the fact that Mathews would interrupt his guests (Something everyone on Daily Kos hated) because he would only do it when they were spitting out cliches. At that point, I kinda liked the guy. Then we heard about the “real guy,” learning he’s an asshole to women, as the dad of a rot-woman, well – it caused me to lose any respect that I might have once had for Chris.

One rarely hears from him nowadays. It appears we are blessed in that regard because he did happen to open his mouth today (via Twitter) and managed to offend seemingly all of progressive Twitter. He implied that he had warned the left that we were headed too far left, the “left” being the party that currently holds the White House, the Senate, and House.

Has Chris seen where the Republican party stands on matters of late? Perhaps Chris can help us define where we might properly find our spot on the left. If Chris is speaking about social issues and the left, perhaps he hasn’t noticed, but most of the country supports those same social issues, ask the former Cleveland Indians fans, now fans of the Cleveland Guardians.  Of course, some are way too out there, every movement has its crazies. We do, too. So what?

The point is, this makes no sense:

We do understand that things are not looking good for 2022 but it is not at all because the Democrats went too far left. It has far more to do with the fact that the Republicans refuse to vaccinate themselves, keeping the economy stuck.

Still, holding the White House, the Senate, and House, ain’t all that bad.

The above is probably right in terms of what Chris is saying. However, Chris likely doesn’t appreciate the danger of the stuff coming out of Right nowadays.

The left didn't try to overthrow the government.
The left didn't spread disinformation that got people killed.
The left isn't trying to disenfranchise voters.
The left isn't fighting against saving our planet.

Maybe focus on how far RIGHT the GOP is?

Why is it that no matter what Republicans do – supreme court hearings/votes, tax cuts, deficit spending, cuts to social programs we never hear nervous Republicans saying they are going to far right?
