Newt Gingrich comes from a party that investigated Benghazi at least 423 times, it never ended. It did not matter how many people from the military testified that it was absolutely a tragedy, but there was nothing that could have been done. Hillary testified and testified and testified, every single time she was called.

Gingrich drove an impeachment process where a special prosecutor started out looking into land deals in Arkansas. The special prosecutor eventually become somewhat of a constant minder, looking for anything with which to charge Clinton. We all know where it ended, a stain on a blue dress.

So after an attack on the Capitol and an offer to form a 100% bipartisan committee, it takes one hell of a lot of brass to go into Maria Bartiromo’s show and essentially speak for the GOP about the “consequences” the committee will face for investigating the most dangerous attack on the Capitol in over a century.

Gingrich said to Bartiromo:

“You have — both with Attorney General Garland and with this select committee on January 6, people who have run amok. What they need to understand is on January 4 next year, you’re going to have a Republican majority in the House and a Republican majority in the Senate.

“And all these people who have been so tough, and so mean, and so nasty are going to be delivered subpoenas for every document, every conversation, every tweet, every e-mail. I think when you have a Republican Congress, this is all going to come crashing down.

“And the wolves are going to find out that they’re now sheep and they’re the ones who are in fact, I think, face a real risk of jail for the kinds of laws they’re breaking.” 

The Republicans had every opportunity to participate, and as much as we know they just want all this to go away, they know there is no excuse at all. Meanwhile, they should feel absolutely free to start an investigation when Biden incites a failed coup that tries to overthrow their “presumed” takeover of the House.

It is also ironic in that this is what the GOP does. They are not for” anything,” they simply attack Democrats, period, and apparently, they cannot take it when they are appropriately investigated for something that fundamentally altered our democracy, at least for now.
