It is highly doubtful that people on the Right are even aware of what is being talked about on the left, but it has been incredibly healthy to see and hear everyone revisit all the peculiar aspects of January 6th and the number of people involved.
Pete Navarro essentially admitted the plan to overthrow the government on national television to Ari Melber, who flat out had to ask Navarro, “Do you know that you just described a coup?” Navarro began to freak and talk about Soros appointing the Michigan and Pennsylvania Secretary of States (neither of which is true, neither of which mattered as a constitutional consideration at that point). More interestingly, Navarro couldn’t stress enough that the entire plan could only work with peace and calm outside. This, of course, makes perfect sense given that the plan he laid out nearly required a riot, and just hours before, Trump told the people on the Mall, “You better fight like hell or you won’t have a country anymore.” (Paraphrased).
We learned that on the evening of January 5th, Pence told Trump that there was absolutely no constitutional way for him to do what Pence asked, and Trump, like the seven-year-old he is, threw a fit, accused Pence of disloyalty, said Pence was weak, and then said: “I won’t be your friend anymore.”
We also learned, via Lawrence O’Donnell, that Sean Hannity texted Mark Meadows on January 5th, “I fear the next 48 hours.”
Now tell us that there was not a large group that knew Trump planned a violent revolt if Pence would not play ball the Trump way.
And here is something interesting, again involving Hannity, probably terrified that Trump would be heading to prison, or – at the very least, total irrelevancy, texted Meadows and Jordan on January 10th:
This is a fascinating text from Hannity to Meadows. Trump comes across as a pitiful figure. https://t.co/DhsZgzxvqL

“Clear path to land the plane” texted on January 10th? They feared that Trump was about to get himself arrested or removed from office by the 25th Amendment. They were scared. As well they should have been:
The timeline here is interesting
Hannity to Meadows on Jan 10: "[Trump] can't mention the election ever again … I did not have a good call with him"
Jan 15: Mike Lindell is photographed in White House with note saying "martial law if necessary" https://t.co/NefUjzIbwS

Again, this has been an extremely healthy period. People need to remember. Merrick Garland definitely needs to remember. In our opinion, that was one of the worst speeches he could have given, all boilerplate, all oblivious to the fact that with every passing day Trump accrues more political power and more ability to say it’s all political and Garland said nothing about investigating and prosecuting people that have already near convicted Trump for crimes prior to January 6th. We have a former attorney general (acting) testifying that Trump told him to sign a letter saying he found fraud in the last election. That is a felony, never mind Trump’s call to Georgia or his pressure on Pence to violate the Constitution which also could easily be considered a felony.
Garland didn’t mention anything about the period before January 6th. It was terribly disappointing. Perhaps it could turn into a good thing. The left is rising again, all the evidence coming out at just the right time, the anniversary (the Select Committee knows what it’s doing), and if Garland is unwilling to move, fast, Joe Biden might be forced to make a change, or the Committee may be forced to very quickly start making referrals to DOJ with what they have.
Regardless, there are a lot of interesting developments happening this week, we learn more by the hour, almost all of it terrifying. And Trump – as of right now – plans on being president again.
If he ran today, he would win. We don’t have the time to play by Garland’s timeline or rules, but things do seem to finally be moving. Garland could be left behind.
Adam Schiff should have been named Attorney General.
