Stephanie Winston-Wolkoff refuses to play the “fall guy” for the Trumps with respect to their troubles with the Presidential Inaugural Committee. We would be more sympathetic to Stephanie had it not been so obvious from the beginning. The Presidential Inauguration Committee (PIC) raised a record $100 million dollars – as a non-profit with everything left over to go to charity.

We are supposed to believe that Stephanie believed she could be part of this job without being part of moving that non-profit money to private Trump accounts? Has she ever met a Trump? Regardless, we do appreciate the help she’s provided the local prosecutor in their civil case.

According to the Daily Beast, Winston-Wolkoff has been working with the prosecutor’s office for years:

“It was their friends. It should never have been sent to the PIC. That’s misuse of funding. The Trump Organization being involved in any way and getting the PIC to pay any sort of balance anywhere on their behalf? It just doesn’t seem legitimate,” said Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who coordinated inaugural events and is now the government’s lead witness in this case.

“I never went along with their grift or lies so they punished me by making me the New York Times covergirl of their graft for the Presidential Inauguration. I’ve been working with prosecutors for over 3 years.”

One could make an honest argument that if you’ve had lunch with Melania and she paid (which seems inconceivable, admittedly) then you are part of their grift because we’ve yet to see Trump income that wasn’t part of some scam.

The above quotes came out in the form of tweets. Stephanie directed one to former U.S. Attorney for the Washington DC area, Glenn Kirschner, who responded:
