Mark Hamill. Where does one even begin?
For those of us who are a certain age, the type that gets an excited, anticipatory feeling just hearing the opening Star Wars theme and seeing the logo go across the screen, every. single. time, whether it’s on TBS, TNT, or whatever, yes – our type, his presence on Twitter is simply a gift we likely didn’t deserve but got anyway. He can be hilarious with breathtaking brevity, he’s sensitive, cares about all the things we care about, and is rabidly anti-Trump and anti-tyranny, just like in the Star Wars series.
That last part, the rabidly anti-Trump thing, really bothers the MAGAs because they want to love Hamill, too – but can’t, because Trump would get mad at them. They are stuck and the only real option is to beg Mr. Hamill (You want to sound respectful) to please keep his politics to himself so that they do not have to hate him and thus remain a MAGA in good standing.
Alas, it doesn’t work. Hamill is Luke fcking Skywalker. He helped blow up two (TWO) Deathstars, and it’s not his fault that Episode 8, The Last Jedi, sucked. So when Mark Hamill wants to talk politics, he gets to speak his mind, no matter what anyone else thinks. So he does, often, and often about the threat that Trump and the far-right pose to this country.
Hamill is so big on Twitter that someone can simply repost something Hamill tweeted FOUR years ago, and it will shoot up into the top ten in the United States:
Not a word of regret or sympathy, just blame. Sickening. People complaining about my political tweets need to understand: I love my country & feel it's my patriotic duty to oppose this demented sociopath with every fibre of my being. #TrumpResignNOW https://t.co/TVHP09tSPA

No one will ever know who might have been the first to repost the 2018 tweet, but it’s now been reposted everywhere and, as always, Hamill remains Twitter’s Jedi Master.
. @HamillHimself just said it ALL! RT IF YOU FEEL THE SAME PATRIOTIC DUTY AS LUKE SKYWALKER! pic.twitter.com/gb31Rb3TPr

I love that people miss the irony of criticizing Mark Hamill for standing up to the authoritarian leader of a fascistic movement. The only way that fiction could be closer to reality is if Donald Trump turned out to be @HamillHimself's father.

Twitter was invented just to get Mark Hamill's attention.

I never saw those as “anti-Trump” tweets from Mark Hamill. Those were anti-despotism, anti-authoritarianism, anti-tyranny and pro-democracy and freedom of speech tweets, professing the same values from his massively popular films.

There are many more.
He really does have a great sense of humor. He knows who he is, and has a little fun with that side of it, in a good way. He is also just a kind, caring, animal-loving, good person. Of course, he opposed Trump!
