People that read this site understand, but perhaps someone from the other side of the spectrum may have it drop in their lap and learn a lesson.

The First Amendment protects citizens from the government suppressing their speech (and there are limits on that right, too). The First Amendment doesn’t require Twitter to keep a “sitting president” (at the time) or a representative that is a chronic liar who spreads dangerous misinformation on its platform. It is a private business. It has property rights under the Constitution.

No shirt, no shoes, no service. Twitter could add, “No proof of Biden vote, no account” and that is Twitter’s right. But the MAGAs firmly believe there is a Twitter conspiracy to keep them off the platform when it’s actually the MAGA’s conspiracies that continually get them in trouble.

Lauren Boebert is convinced that Twitter is simply out to get the MAGAs. Twitter is out to make money and those bots putting thousands and thousands of replies out all help it make that money. Twitter is not opposed to having MAGAs on its platform. It is afraid of the laws that might be passed should Twitter’s expansive reach lead to more disease and war. It is afraid of being broken up or becoming a utility.

Twitter is not afraid of Lauren Boebert, though Lauren Boebert believes she is putting the fear of God into Twitter’s executive offices. She is threatening Twitter and these threats are not the type of threats that capitalists dedicated to “freedom” make. They are of the type that come from MAGAs, who believe they can rule society as they see fit, make:

No, under classic political definitions, it sounds like a fascist threat to us. Communism is as much an economic theory as a form of government (there is overlap). Fascism is one in which the government is essentially lawless and can dish out punishment and rewards as it sees fit.

It is not like Twitter didn’t warn Trump or Marjorie on many occasions, keep secret rules, or make up rules on the spot. Both Trump and Marj believed they were too big to be kicked off permanently. Both were wrong.

It is not the Democrats’ fault that we didn’t issue a call to vi0lence in 2016 and riot around the Capitol, nor is it the Democrats’ fault that we’re listening to the scientists at the CDC. Perhaps if the MAGAs tried it, they’d find themselves with working Twitter accounts.

After all, Twitter is allowing Boebert to openly threaten it (Non-violently) on their platform. It is not against the rules. See how that works?
