Donald Trump, in an attempt to regain the attention of the public and the media, has announced that he will hold a press conference on January 6, exactly one year after the riot at the Capitol. On Tuesday, the former president released a lengthy and aggressive statement about what he will discuss, which read, “Why isn’t the Unselect Committee of highly partisan political hacks investigating the CAUSE of the January 6th protest, which was the rigged Presidential Election of 2020?”

The former president continues to push the lies that caused the insurrection in the first place, despite the fact that the election has been declared “the most secure in American history” by both the Election Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council and the Election Infrastructure Sector Coordinating Council. After the November 3rd election, the groups also said that “There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised.”

On Sunday, Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) did an interview where he admitted that he and his fellow Republicans may have had a hand in creating the conditions that allowed for the riots to occur, although he did not directly agree to that notion. He simply told the reporter from ABC News that it was “possible”.

Despite all the evidence pointing to a safe and secure election, and the number of republicans that are beginning to shy away from extremism, Trump said in his statement that, “they want to stay as far away from that topic as possible, the numbers don’t work for them, or even come close.”

He went on to say, “Look at what is going on now in Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin, and, to a lesser extent, Michigan where the numbers are horrendously corrupt in Detroit, but the weak Republican RINOs [“Republican In Name Only”] in the Michigan House and Senate don’t want to touch the subject.”
