Mark Meadows recently published a book that attempts to portray Trump positively (although fails to do some during several parts), but he has still managed to upset the former president by describing his unkempt demeanor when he was sick with COVID-19. Meadows describes Trump’s illness in the book, saying he had “red streaks” in his eyes as well as mentioning that his hair was a mess.

There have been reports that Trump spoke to an advisor about his response to these passages, apparently saying that he was annoyed because, “This guy is talking about what I look like, in my bedroom.” According to the Washington Post, out of all the sections in the book, that little anecdote is what truly set him off the most.

Along with his red eyes and messy hair, Meadows also mentioned when discussing the evening that Trump was adorned in a t-shirt, and that it was the only time Meadows had ever seen him dressed so casually. Apparently, however, Trump wants everyone to think that he only wears golf t-shirts and suits, as Meadows points these were the only things he had ever seen the former president in beforehand.

The reason that Meadows even includes this interlude in the book is because according to his story, he had gone into Trump’s bedroom to try and convince him to move to a hospital to receive better treatment for COVID-19. This is just one of many interesting stories revolving around Trump’s bout with the virus Meadows discusses in his book “The Chief’s Chief”, others including Trump’s positive result coming in days before the first presidential debate, which he still attended.
