“Pastor” Robert Jeffress is the CEO… Head Pastor at First Baptist Church in Dallas. The “church” looks more like the Kennedy Center in Washington. It is not small. Any time you have an upper deck for your church, one similar to where you would sit if you were an associate sound engineer at the Oscars, you might want to reevaluate what you’re trying to accomplish at that church in the first place.
Regardless, Jeffress doesn’t hide the fact that he’s a major MAGA and is Example No. 1 as to why churches should be taxed, or at least the ones that engage in political activity. We can think of plenty of churches that focus on serving their people to a fault, almost – at least to the point where they’re barely getting by.
Having been in Houston for a faux rally last night (As reported earlier, Trump was 2 hours late and the lower bowl was nowhere close to full), Trump must have decided he would take advantage of the full audience to do a real Trump rally. Trump was asked to stand up and give a Christmas message by Pastor Jeffress.
Any other living president would talk about the “spirit of the season” and giving, not receiving, but “giving” and coming together as family… blah blah, that’s a softball for any politician. Politicians would pay – they DO pay, to get that kind of opportunity.
Trump’s Christmas message wasn’t about the spirit of the season, the renewal of Christian promise, it wasn’t about giving, or family, or the sense of community. It wasn’t even about Christmas!
Trump gave a rally speech. He first congratulated Pastor Jeffress for being one of the very first pastors to recognize “a man who may not know the Bible like the rest of us, but loves Jesus and is a leader…” Trump didn’t even have to say that Jeffress was talking Trump Trump, everyone already knew it. So, typical rally start, talks about how great he is.
Trump then rallied against Biden, and Afghanistan, the Border, inflation, all that Hallmark movie stuff that would make a couple who had been married 19 years hold hands, you know – the “own the libtard” stuff that makes MAGAs glow? Typical rally phase transition.
Asked to give a Christmas message to the congregation and Trump praises Trump for being Trump, and then talks about what a horrible this Christmas must be (he didn’t say that but listing the problems he sure must have meant it).
Tax the fffff out of that corporation masquerading as a church. Last thing. It would be interesting to know who has more money, Jeffress or Trump. Both grift off the same people, both the same message (basically), both glorify themselves.
Trump attended the Christmas service this morning at First Baptist Dallas. Pastor Robert Jeffress asked him to come up and give a Christmas message to the congregation, and a MAGA rally broke out. Trump’s ‘prayer’ was about Afghanistan, inflation, gas prices and the border. pic.twitter.com/GstuAyAQry

Just so no one leaves this in too furious a mood. All across the United States, there were small churches with perhaps less than 20 people in attendance, that cared for each other, and talked about what they could do for others. There is still hope.
