Most everyone knows by now that Trump is about to raise One billion dollars (picture Austin Powers saying that while knowing that Google has $150 billion in cash on hand and Facebook has $56 billion cash on hand) to start his own social media company through an IPO, a corporation owned by shareholders – not Trump’s style.

But that also means that Trump needs a CEO. So, given that Trump wants to successfully build a new social media platform, he surely went and got one of the Vice Presidents of Facebook, Google, Twitter, or YouTube (Yes, owned by Google) or any of the other big media platforms right?

Wrong, Trump picked one of the dimmest bulbs in Congress, Devin Nunes. True to his word, Trump once said that he values loyalty more than intelligence, work ethic, competence… just like a mob boss. Without loyalty, none of that other stuff does any good.

Well, Stephen Colbert had some fun with that Nunes loyalty, the type that he’s already demonstrated. Colbert walked right up to the edge of good taste and left it right there, on the good side of the line:

Speaking of catastrophes,” Stephen Colbert said midway through his Late Show monologue on Tuesday night, pivoting from a story about the demise of humanity to Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), who announced this week that he will be leaving Congress at the end of this year to work for Donald Trump.

“Nunes has been named the CEO of the former president’s new media company,” the host explained, “despite having ‘no apparent prior experience working in the tech industry or as an executive.’” As a former dairy farmer, Colbert joked that Nunes is the “perfect guy to make money off the old president, because he has experience milking things with leathery skin.”

Perfection. Maybe that’s why he’s paid so many millions and we… are not.
