What. The. Hell?

First of all, how dare the MAGAs adopt Martin Luther King as their leader or example. If King were around today the MAGAs would hate him as much as they hate Rev. Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson. But since MLK is safely gone, they can adopt him while carefully picking out little slices of his ministry as their inspiration.

After all, aren’t they, too, fighting injustice, fighting oppression, and just wanting to be treated by the content of their character…

Hold up. We think we see a problem here. Not only is there no overlap, but there are also plenty of reasons to believe that Martin Luther King would have a huge issue with the guy in a King sweatshirt today, telling other customers (as he’s about to be arrested) that they would tell their children and grandchildren about that moment as if he was at the podium at the Lincoln Memorial looking down at millions on the Mall and telling the world about his dream.

First of all, unlike King’s cause, people can choose to vaccinate themselves or not, wear masks or not, and whether to go out or not. One cannot choose their race.

Second, these people’s actions are inherently selfish and inherently dangerous to others. They are not only willing to risk their own lives (Fine, “Let’s Go Darwin!”) but they are also willing to risk yours, since they’re more susceptible, have a higher viral load, are more contagious, etc.

There is no overlap between this man and Dr. King except for the fact that both are controversial, and both represent a threat. King just did it the right way. Watch this self-important dude:
