Come on, MAGAs, come on. We know you plan on possible real war with liberal America someday, at least in your head. But even in “real war” there are stories about Christmas Eve bringing about ceasefires along the front. In World War I, soldiers even met out in No Man’s Land, between the trenches, sang carols, and exchanged gifts. (Officers ensured that never happened again the next day, though there are many reports that in World War II in the Battle of the Bulge there was not a shot fired on Christmas Eve.
But in the United States, circa 2021, with the MAGAs, any parade, even a Christmas boat parade, will have “shots fired” in this country’s Cold Civil War.
From Mediaite:
Florida Today reported on Friday that numerous complaints have been made and arguments had over last week’s annual holiday boat parade in Cocoa Beach, Florida. During the procession, some boats flew flags that were profanely critical of President Joe Biden.
One boat had a flag reading “FJB,” presumably an abbreviation for “Fuck Joe Biden.” Another flag said, “F*ck Joe Biden,” with a middle finger standing in for the “u.” Yet another flag read, “Let’s go Brandon,” a euphemism for “Fuck Joe Biden.”
“Political messaging has no place in a Christmas parade,” said Cocoa Beach Mayor Ben Malik. “We have enough to fight amongst each other about. We don’t need to ruin Christmas over it.”
No shit?
A wonderful time at the Cocoa Beach Christmas boat parade tonight. So many beautifully decorated boats. Many with American flags, Let's Go Brandon flags, and Fu*k Joe Biden flags. Pretty awesome! #LetsGoBrandon#FJB pic.twitter.com/uLG6Ds4e2F

And one of the saddest parts of the entire story is that the parade was put on by what is generally a fairly well-respected organization that wouldn’t normally be associated with this sh*t, the Rotary Club, and – to their slight credit, it seems as though they believed that people knew better and they didn’t need a rule:
The parade was sponsored by the Cocoa Beach Rotary Club, which has stated it will try to avoid a repeat of the political messages at future events. In an open, Cocoa Beach Rotary Club President Marcin Kubiak wrote, “We are deeply saddened, disappointed and disgusted this took place.”
It seems to us that at least the more respectable people who run the local Rotary club believed they didn’t need to say anything and are bewildered and surprised. We wish we could say the same.
