Mercedes Schlapp seems to think that Congress’s Select Committee on January 6th has plans on emptying her checking account like some Nigerian money-marketing scam. She cannot believe that they are actually investigating this crime!

We have had two indications over the last two days that seem to be “tells” as to what really scares the Republicans. On Wednesday morning, Joe Scarborough noted that Mark Meadows went on to Hannity’s show on Tuesday night and broke executive privilege by telling Sean that Trump did order that the National Guard be ready (At what time? Under what conditions? Why wasn’t Trump on the phone demanding they get there? Why was Trump reportedly watching on television thinking it was cool?). But Meadows also told Sean that the committee wanted him to bring phone logs and electronic communications. Scarborough noted that he believed Meadows feared the records request more than the stuff he could lie about.

Now we have Mercedes Schlapp, one-time communications director for the Trump administration who was working for the Trump campaign as a communications strategist in 2020. Schlapp is complaining about the committee wanting bank records and phone records while also whining that the committee doesn’t want people to know about the records being investigated.

Why would Congress having access to her bank records result in “bankrupting” them? Is Mercedes actually saying that she thinks the United States Congress is going to drain her account? Or is she really worried about those phone records and throws in the bank records to make it sound that much worse? Did the committee ask for personal bank records or just the campaign’s records?

It doesn’t matter, what these people really fear is the Select Committee going about and doing the job that the FBI should already have done!

They fear the truth may come out and, as in all things involving Donald Trump, the truth is their worst enemy.
