Jim Jordan got caught watching Fox News last night rather than the Select Committee’s hearing on whether to issue contempt charges on Mark Meadows. We make this guess (and it’s only that) because, while CNN, MSNBC, and CSPAN covered the hearing, Fox did not. Fox didn’t cover Mark Meadows or anything that could be construed as a meadow in the United States.

We can make this informed guess because during the committee hearing last night, they stressed that the contempt charge was limited to Meadows’s refusal to show up to answer questions that had nothing to do with executive privilege, questions he had no excuse whatsoever to not appear.

Even the average political writer understood that the Select Committee was not basing its charges on anything touching on executive privilege. The criminal charge would be based solely upon obviously parallel questions that Meadows already acknowledged as not covered by privilege.

And yet today in Congress, perhaps the guy with the most to lose should those texts come out, Jim Jordan, stood up and gave an impassioned speech about the critical nature of executive privilege, that the concept goes back to the days of George Washington, that the government would fall apart without it and the president wouldn’t be able to hear any advice or counsel because Congress could just subpoena some guy in the room and ask what it was that they talked about.

Well, that opened the door and Jordan’s personal Lex Luther stepped up to the microphone to undress Jordan (just kidding, Jordan starts out hearings half undressed and we don’t want to see anything further) VIDEO BELOW. She simply made him look like an idiot. He had said “privilege, privilege, privilege!”

Cheney turned to him and directly said to him, “We aren’t charging him on anything privileged” and didn’t finish it with “You stupid f’ing POS,” but only because she didn’t need to. She then went on to lament that there was a time when her side of the aisle agreed that Trump was to blame and they had to get to the bottom of it and quoted Kevin McCarthy.

She devastated the entire Republican party in front of God and the world. Pro Tip: Do not play with Rep. Cheney. She may be beaten in the Wyoming election by some rabid MAGA and she couldn’t care less. She is going down fighting. For that, we say bravo.
