Yesterday, we reported on the fact that Lara Logan had compared Dr. Fauci to one of history’s worst monsters, Nazi Dr. Josef Mengele, a man that history refers to as the “Angel of De*th”. We are not sure where the angel part comes from. The man did experiments on the human body that should never be forgotten, the type that would be illegal with any type of animal and the type we simply cannot reprint, other than to say he was truly a monster.
Dr. Fauci has worked tirelessly for this country for decades. Has he made mistakes along the way? Of course. Has he ever wanted to do anything but save lives and improve public health? Of course.
There is no comparison. The fact that Logan – once a respected journalist and now at Fox – made the comparison is more offensive to Mengele’s victims than Fauci, but of course it’s offensive to him, too.
And yet, Lara almost managed to outdoor herself today. According to Mediate:
It was Monday when Logan came up with the claim that “people all across the world” are comparing the nation’s top infectious disease expert to the doctor known as the “Angel of De*th” for his torture, experimentation and k1lling of those imprisoned at Auschwitz. Logan’s comments drew condemnation, including from the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, which deemed them a “shameful” exploitation of the Holocaust.
Fox News has declined to comment on Logan’s remarks. The host herself doubled down on them on Twitter, first retweeting a user wishing “shame” on the Auschwitz Museum:
After that tweet, the Auschwitz Museum said Logan had blocked them on Twitter.
Logan proceeded to tweet out a series of news articles that claimed Fauci promoted and funded the testing of AIDS drugs on foster kids.
One should never, ever, compare any person in all of history, especially today, to top Nazis. They may have been people just as evil, but the Nazis were a class unto themselves in their means and victims.
Everyone knows this fundamental rule. It is why museums are built in the first place. Fox’s no comment should indicate that they are considering terminating her, unlikely, but they should.
